Emilio Tamez (b. 1999) is a photographer whose work examines the interplay between sanctity, transgression, and the body as a site of emotional, psychological, and spiritual inscription.

Across fine art, editorial, and commercial work, her practice investigates body language as the ultimate form of truth-telling. Lust, lamentation, prayer, meditations on femininity, anguish, romance, and rebellion - among others - are recurring egregores in her photographs. These concepts themselves become the characters, possessing her subjects and reappearing throughout her world of imagery.
