Gehenna
Merrily walked the sullen trail
Toward the valley of Gehenna
Rattle crunch the bones of men
Blood turned scabbed sienna
Subtle greens of skies so grey
Teal like tears of Delos
Swirl with sins in pillars of smoke
Blackening the Sun
Why might I, a flush faced child,
Go venture toward the dark?
Each step I take on barren soil
Hot from embers’ spark
Never mind the windburn, I
Still shine with supple skin
Halo hanging thinly there
Prayer chant within
Down the path I trod
Stench of sulfur flesh and gas
Into hellish land near void of God
To retrieve a jewel like glass
